Designer : thom browneatmosphere: under the gilding of the hotel de ville in paris, decorated with huge white balls suspended from the ceiling, thom browne embarks on a journey through the world of dreams, between fairyland, meeting bizarre characters and strange creatures…to seeing the appearance of an enchanted unicorn… a wonderful show and a first, as the american designer chose to show his women's collection in paris instead of new york. collection: all of the materials that the designer develops for his suits are reinterpreted around tulle. the trousers become suspended skirts, the jackets are extended until they cover the head, princess dresses play with delicacy and transparency but beware of the octopus that hangs itself on the back of a dress or black is worn with an embroidered sequined skeleton. to note: the high platform shoes, elongating the silhouette, worn with sports socks, the proposals of the bags most notably the ‘dog’ model + the fairyland décor. interview with thom browne:it started with the idea of redeveloping my classic fabrics, all around tulle and creating a dream that is a very childlike story in regards to what the story of what the dream was all about. it was really in all the development of all the fabrics and the different proportions and shapes and the tailoring. it all started with the tailored pieces and really putting more dreamlike pieces with the tailoring. because it really did start with the tailored pieces and then creating new shapes that went along with them.it’s very nice to be here, to represent american fashion in paris. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
